It’s been a busy week for me, so I haven’t had much time as I’d like to have on this challenge. 😦 Luckily, I had some spare time tonight so I could do both of this week’s challenges – Ghosts and Jack–O–Lanterns. I’ll have today’s challenge in my next post, which I’ll be posting tomorrow. This post feature’s October 8th’s theme – “Ghosts”. Time for a Ghost-A-Rama! 🙂
The hardest thing about this challenge was trying to figure out the design. Originally, I wanted to do a ghost on each nail but that seemed like the obvious choice, so I wanted to make a twist on it. I kept the design simple because I had to do both of the challenges for this week. As a result, it’s not as complicated as I could have done. Below are the colors that I used for this challenge.
Below are images of the completed manicure. Even though it was a simple design, I think that it came out well.
I have two accent nails, my thumb and ring fingers. The rest of my nails were painted black with Sally Hansen Black Out. On my thumb, I painted a single ghost using Sally Hansen White Tip. On top of that, I painted a layer of Serum No.5 Day Glow. I was worried that using it would turn the ghost yellow since Day Glow is a pastel yellow. Luckily, by using only one layer, it turns it to an off-white. Even with a single layer, it still glows brightly! 😀
On my ring finger, I painted stripes using tape and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pronto Purple. On top of that I painted 3 ghosts using Sally Hansen White Tip and used So Easy Stripe Rite black for the details.
I think if I did something like this again, I’d try to use Day Glow on all of the ghosts so they all glow in the dark. Otherwise, I loved the end result. Just keeping it simple and sweet. 🙂
