Today’s manicure is my birthday mani! 🙂 Below is a picture of that mani.
I finished it up last night before I went out for hibachi with my boyfriend and a few of my friends. Had a lot of fun and totally wanna go again sometime. 🙂 Anywho, as for the mani, I didn’t want something completely out there and wildly bright, though I was tempted for a lil bit.
I ended up choosing butter London Artful Dodger for the base color, which I’ll be posting a review on that at some point. 🙂 I thought that since it was a dusty blue, and not a super bright blue, it’s be great for a winter mani. I forgot to take a pic of the colors that I used for this mani, but I’ll edit this post with that image some point tomorrow.
As for the actual nail art, I decided to go with a simple glitter gradient. I’ve never done one before, so it’s not perfect. But, I think it came out well regardless. I originally wanted to use Happy Special Day by Serum No.5 for all my nails, but I decided to just use it as an accent nail. Not sure why I decided to go that route, but think it was because since my last NOTD featured that polish, I didn’t want it to be the focus again so soon.
The polish I ended up using for the gradation is Serum No.5’s Girl’s BFF, which is also in the Holiday 2012 collection as Happy Special Day. The result reminds me of a snowy day, which is funny since it also snowed last night. 🙂 It’s a bit more subdued, I think, in comparison to my last mani, since I used Happy Special Day on all my nails, but I loved the end result.
