Wow, I haven’t done a NOTD post in like forever! 😦 Finally got a chance to actually do my nails for once (and not just do a quick swatch that I remove right after…). I wanted to do something fun and colorful and below’s the ending result.
I decided to try out one of my new glitter polishes called “Happy Special Day” by Serum No.5. In the near future, since I have the swatch pics already, I can do a more in-depth review of this polish. Having this paired with any color makes your nails seem like a party on your nails. I love it, though you do have to fish for those bigger glitters.
Originally I wanted to wear this for my boyfriend’s birthday, which was a couple days ago, since it seemed like something fun to wear. Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to, so it pops up the following night. XD However, I think this glitter polish will be back for my birthday in a few weeks, just on a different color.
Not sure on what color, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Worse case, I can pick it by random and pray it’s not a terrible combo. Only downside is that if I decide to take this off, it’s gonna be a bitch, because I didn’t use my peel-off base coat. I probably will when I wear it again, so I don’t drive myself crazy when I attempt to take the glitter off.
Below are the colors I used for this NOTD:
I used 1 coat of the base coat, 1 coat of Mint Spirit, 2 coats of Happy Special Day, and 2 coats of the top coat. You can get away with 1 layer of top coat, but I did 2 to be safe, so the nails would be completely smooth and have absolutely no chance of getting any of the larger glitter caught on anything.
Considering the amount of layers I used for this mani, it’s held up well so far. Granted, it’s only the 2nd day I’ve had this mani. The pic was of the 2nd day and there’s no visible wear or chips. I hope to do more of these kinds of posts in the future, besides playing catch up with reviews and such.
I also want to finish the “This is Halloween Challenge” at some point since I got sidetracked by Hurricane Sandy. I think I may do those in between doing the rest of the swatches for Zoya’s Gilty Pleasures Trio. As a final side note, I’m finishing up my review of ipsy’s January 2013 GlamBag, so that post will be up relatively soon. 🙂
